October 16, 1923: Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio
It was 90 years ago when brothers Walt and Roy Disney started what is known as the Walt Disney Company today. They started it as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio.
The animator Walt Disney, in the same year, created a short film entitled “Alice’s Wonderland”. The company later in 1926 had its name changed as the Walt Disney Studio, and got its present name “The Walt Disney Company” in 1986.
The company currently holds the status of the second largest media conglomerate in terms of revenue, after Comcast. It also operates other networks such as ESPN, ABC, A&E and more.
