Facebook Smart Speakers will come with 15-inch touchscreens
Facebook Smart Speakers: Facebook may eventually be making its foray into the hardware industry with its smart speakers. These apparatus allegedly feature a touchscreen which can be used to show visual data to accompany its answers, in addition to play video and run video calls.
The report cites supply chain resources as saying that the launch of these apparatus was previously scheduled in May, however, Facebook requires additional time “for optimizing the acoustic of the gadgets and software alteration.”
Aloha and Fiona are allegedly being assembled by Facebook’s Construction 8 hardware laboratory. The former is reported to be a complex version and may be promoted under the official title Portal. It’s reported to have the ability to use voice commands and use facial recognition technology to identify consumers. In a previous report from January this year, Facebook was stated to be intending to launch a house video chat merchandise titled Portal which will compete with Amazon’s Echo Show and Google Assistant-enabled touchscreens. The report asserted that Facebook intends to market the unit for $499 (approximately Rs. 31,800).
The report also states that Aloha aka Portal will have more social media purposes. Facebook has signed deals with Sony and Universal Music, which might add more attributes into the wise speakers, according to Digitimes. Surprisingly, not much was said concerning the Fiona intelligent speaker, however, it Seems to be concentrated on easy video calling
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has shown a keen interest in smart houses, where he constructed a clever personal assistant, Jarvis. It remains to be seen, the way the new clever speakers match up to the offerings by large players such as google, Amazon, and Apple.
